Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) - An international, non-profit membership organization developing voluntary standards for the entire spectrum of advanced television systems.

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) - A non-profit, technical professional association of more than 377,000 individual members in 150 countries. 

International Telecommunications Union (ITU) - Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the ITU is an international organization within the United Nations System where governments and the private sector coordinate global telecom networks and services.  This is a good source for international standards.

National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) - A full-service trade association that promotes and protects the interests of radio and television broadcasters in Washington and around the world.  NAB is the broadcasters' voice before Congress, federal agencies and the courts.

Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) - Strives to advance the field of Broadcast Engineering and the professional development of the broadcast engineer by being in the forefront as changes in technology take place.   Continues to help its members stay on the leading edge of the broadcast industry by providing leadership, information, education and opportunities for recognition.

Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) - Ongoing goal to advance technical theory in the motion imaging industry.
