Quality
Assurance Statement
| Acrodyne
Industries Inc. (Ai) maintains a comprehensive quality
assurance program that assures that the Quantum
product exceeds all internal and customer requirements.
This is accomplished through a Quality Management
System designed in accordance with the ISO9001 Quality
System model. This system utilizes a series of procedures
and processes in conjunction with trained Inspectors
to verify that all aspects of the product have been
assembled and tested as required. |
 |
|
| From
the start, each Quantum supplier is evaluated by means
of an on site survey for their ability to produce their
particular commodity in accordance with documented Acrodyne
Requirements. Once approved, suppliers are under constant
surveillance and must meet minimum supplier performance
standards to remain a Quantum supplier. |
| All
component parts either manufactured by a supplier
or distributed are inspected in our state-of-the-art
inspection facility. Here, trained Inspectors verify
specific characteristics stated in detailed inspection
instructions. Any material deemed to be non-conforming
is quickly identified, segregated and dispositioned
as required. |
 |
|
| By
doing so, we quickly and accurately eliminate any possibility
of defective material entering the manufacturing process.
All inspection is performed utilizing gages calibrated
in accordance with ISO/NCSL Z540 1-1994 and sampling
plans in accordance with ISO/ANSI Z3. Inspected and accepted
material is identified as such and is stored on a secure
stockroom within the facility. This ensures that all material
issued to manufacturing has been inspected and accepted.
In the event that a component is damaged or found defective
in the manufacturing process, a system is in place that
segregates, documents and dispositions the material. |
| Once
component parts are inspected, they are incorporated
into sub-assemblies, which are again, inspected
one hundred percent in accordance with IPC-A-610C
class 2 requirements. The use of the IPC standards
provides a uniform standard by which all internal
assembly and external suppliers can produce Quantum
assemblies. |
 |
|
| The
IPC standards are an American National Standard and employed
by most military and commercial electronic assemblers.
Detailed instructions specify the characteristics to be
verified at each level of sub-assembly inspection. At
all levels of inspection, Acrodyne makes extensive use
of electronic data gathering for rapid statistical analysis
of inspection results. |
| Upon
the incorporation of sub-assembly components into
the transmitter assembly, Inspection personnel are
involved at each step, verifying the process and
installed components. Using detailed visual inspection
instructions, the Inspectors step through each stage
of transmitter assembly verifying every aspect of
the unit. |
 |
|
| Upon
completion of the assembly and test of the transmitter,
the Inspector once again steps through a visual final
inspection instruction verifying that the transmitter
meets all requirements and is acceptable for shipment
to the customer. The detail data gathered from each inspection
step is statistically analyzed to facilitate continuous
improvement of each stage of the assembly operation. |
| Completed
transmitters are then packaged as required and staged
with all material required to complete the customers
order. Inspectors again verify that all material
specified on the customers order are complete, inspected
and ready to ship. |
 |
|
| Quality
is an integral part of the Quantum manufacturing process
and all employees are empowered to uphold the quality
values of the company. The Acrodyne Quality department
is an integral part of the quality process, upholding
the quality values through the use of a comprehensive
Quality Management System that ensures that every Quantum
transmitter exceeds the customers expectations.
